heat 1 but was not enough to have the race cancelled. After the rains, the event went on as scheduled with the 2nd set of qualifying heats and the mains.
Denise Burton-Clarke who had experience issues during the last season started out this season with a win. She was able to hold off her closest rivals, Lascelles Ellis 2nd who also the Top Qualifier (TQ) for the class and Raffique Golaub in 3rd position.
The GT Class was snatched away by Douglas Grey after new comer Golaub to the GT class walked away as the TQ. Grey went into the event this weekend, indicating that he will not be sparing anyone and will walk away as the GT King. Well, Grey has made good on his promise and dominated the GT field walking away with the top position. He finished ahead of Andre Blaine in 2nd position and Raffique Golaub in 3rd position.
